Gayle Embrey, Director & Executive Producer

Gayle Embrey received a B.A. in the Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied art history, painting, and photography. She later received a M.A. in Art Therapy and Counseling Psychology from The Naropa University in Boulder, CO. She continued post-graduate studies in art history, photography, painting and ceramics at Southern Methodist University and Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Embrey has shown and sold her work in galleries and exhibitions in Colorado.

Embrey turned her creative attention to filmmaking in 2006 as an Executive Producer of the documentary Playground Project detailing the commercial sexual exploitation of US children. She owns Power Surge Productions LLC, and just completed her first feature length documentary as Director and Executive Producer. The film, titled Beyond The Walls, brings to life the personal struggles and successes, through the creation of murals, in the West Bank, Northern Ireland, Liberia, El Salvador, Argentina, Australia, and the United States.

In addition, Embrey is an investor, through the Embrey Family Foundation, in Chicken & Egg Pictures which provides funding to women filmmakers as well as Impact Partners who has produced such acclaimed documentaries as The Cove, E Team, and Queen of Versailles. She is also an investor in Gamechanger Films whose first film, Land Ho!, received critical claim at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and will be released this summer by Sony Pictures Classic.

Gayle Embrey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado who retired from private practice to focus on her documentary film Beyond The Walls. Embrey worked for many years counseling survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault as well as people struggling with addictions and eating disorders. She provided pro bono counseling to survivors of torture. Her work in this field continues to inform her film work, bringing a specific lens to issues of human rights and social justice.

 

Pablo Robert: Producer

Pablo Robert was born in Zárate, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his studies in 2002 at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) where he graduated with a cum laude degree in Business Administration in 2008. In 2009, he began his career as Film Producer at the E.N.E.R.C., School of the Argentinean National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts. While studying, he worked as a producer in several short films including “Ay Cosita Linda” which was shown in many national and international film festivals.

In 2010, Robert worked on the filming of a 12-episode miniseries “The Talisman” produced by the well-known audiovisual production company POLKA Producciones. That same year he started working with the production company Subterránea Films S.R.L. (Limited).  He has worked as the general producer on the production of many TV series and institutional videos for public and private organizations. In 2011, he worked as field producer in the full-length documentary “Ensayo de una Nación” (Essay on a Nation), subsidized by INCAA.

In 2012, Robert worked as Executive Producer in the documentary film “Ricardo Bär”. This documentary received two awards in BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Film Fest) and one award in DOC BUENOS AIRES (one of the most important doc meetings in Latin America). The film has so far also been selected to screen in two other important Festivals, FID MARSEILLE 2013 and VIENNALE (Viena international film festival). It is programmed to do its commercial premiere in 2014.

Robert had been working since 2010 as Producer of the full-length documentary “Beyond the Walls”. This documentary was filmed in many countries around the world and it is in the final process of post-production.

 

Esteban Perroud: Cinematographer

Esteban Perroud was born in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires, Argentina on August 10, 1984. In 2002, he studied Electroacustic Composition of Music at the National University of Quilmes. In 2009 Perroud finished his studies as Cinematographer at the Universidad del Cine (FUC).

In 2006, he worked as soundman for TV Channel 13 Polka, on “Desperate Housewives”. That same year he traveled to Bogota, Colombia and worked on RCN Teleset Channel for the reality show “Dancing for a Dream” and “X Factor”.

In 2007, Perroud worked as soundman on “Extraordinary Stories” by Mariano Llinas, which won the award for Best Screenplay at the International Independent Film Festival of Buenos Aires (BAFICI 2009). In commercials, he work with DOP as Mike Molloy (Stanley Kubrick Cameraman) and John Inwood (“Scrubs”, NBC).

In 2009, he worked as Cinematographer on the documentary, “The Ways of Wine”, the story of Nicolas Carreras. This documentary received the award of Best Film at the International Festival of Mar del Plata by the International Press, (FIPRESI) in Argentina and was shown in the Culinary Cinema section at the Berlin Festival in 2011, San Sebastian Film Festival and Napa Valley Film Festival.

In 2011, one of Perroud’s projects was selected by UNESCO for the Franco-Central Seminar for Environment and Youth in the city of San Jose, Costa Rica.

In 2012, he was the Cinematographer of the full-length documentary Beyond The Walls, an ambitious project involving several countries. Perroud has also worked as Director of the series “Science in Focus” for Technopolis TV.

In cinema, he has worked in more than 18 full length films, with young directors like Mariano Llinás, Nicolas Carreras, Luis Ortega and Christoph Behl in films awarded in San Sebastian, Bafici, Berlinale, among other festivals.
Since 2007, he has been a partner in Subterranea Films with producer Christoph Behl and Juliet Barrientos, specializing in producing documentary films and television programs.
 Perroud is currently working on his first feature documentary “The Hunter of Coincidences,” a portrait of the family of the Uruguayan painter Carlos Paez Vilaro.

 

Iair Michel Attias: Editor

Iair Michel Attias was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1990.

In 2007 his interest in audiovisual production became manifest when began producing short documentaries and attending screenwriting and filmmaking workshops.

In 2008 Michel Attias focused on film editing and postproduction at the Sindicato de la Industria Cinematográfica Argentina (CFP-SICA) – Union of the Argentine Cinematography Industry.

From 2009 to the present he has been studying Editing Direction at the E.N.E.R.C. (Escuela Nacional de Realización y Experimentación Cinematográfica) where he furthers his knowledge on the postproduction of images, Digital Film and Tapeless Workflows (REDCAM-XDCAM-DVCPRO) as well as on the Analysis of Dramatic Structure.

Iair has attended seminars offered by Viditec, Tektronix, Kent Petersen, Olivier Schwob and Rolando Almirante (EICTV), among others.

Michel Attias currently works at Fox Latin American Channels in operation and editing in AVID. He also works freelance as a film editor for Argentine production companies.

Iair Michel Attías is an external collaborator with the Chair of Ethics and Human Rights, University of Buenos Aires, where he participates in the video area for development of the series of IBIS multimedia (International Bioethical Information System).

 

Zeke Eagan: Scriptwriter

Zeke Eagan  recieved a BFA from NYU´s Tisch School of the Arts with concentrations in screen writing and cinematography.  Originally from New York City, Zeke now lives in Carbondale, Colorado.

 

Jeffery Harwell: Music Producer

Jeffery Harwell studies Audio Production at the Art Institute of Austin.  This is his first work within the film industry.

 

Mike Odmark: Composer

Mike Odmark is a composer and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2004, Mike has left his sonic fingerprint on over 40 albums fulfilling one or all of the following roles – engineer, producer, musician, composer, and arranger. His work gained the recognition of international renowned recording magazine, Tape Op, who featured him in a 2010 issue.
